I am stepping up my quest for antique photos to add to the Genealogy Section. It would be great to have some pictures linked to the text. But be careful: You should not put really old pictures through your scanner. The harsh light will degrade them more quickly. One Stepp suggests that the best way to scan your antique pictures is to take them outside in the shade and re-photograph them with a macro lens on a camera. You can get the film developed and then scan these dupes. They won't be as sharp, but your originals will be less prone to fading.
